Engaging Clients In Succession Planning
Wednesday November 23, 2016
The Agriculture Committee identified the desire of professional advisors to be able to learn from a nationally recognized expert on managing the emotional challenges that arise when engaging clients with family businesses in succession planning.
For many, farming in the Annapolis Valley is a family business. In addition to the challenges of dealing with a multi-generational business, farms are homes and a way of living. The Agriculture Committee has engaged Dr. John Fast, to lead this seminar. John is the founder and executive director of The Centre For Family Business at the University of Waterloo, President of Family Enterprise Solutions, author, educator and speaker. For additional information on John, visit his web site at http://familybusinessdoctor.ca/
The event will be held in two parts. First is a workshop for professionals with John Fast from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The second is a keynote address at 7:00 PM. Participants in the workshop will be able to bring up to ten clients to the Keynote
Address. A copy of John’s book, The Family Business Doctor is included. All sessions will be held at the Old Orchard Inn.

AVCC Celebrates 120 years!
BENS Plus Update
First Aniversary Review - Support your employees & your Chamber at the same time!
AVCC has been advocating for the twinning of Highway 101 from Avonport to Coldbrook for many years. Recent communications have indicated that this is much more likely to be considered by the provincial government in the near future if the new twinned highway were to be a toll road. AVCC is seeking opinions from the business community on whether we should support or oppose a toll on twinned Highway 101 through the Valley.
Do you believe the Annapolis Valley Chamber of Commerce should support or oppose tolls on Highway 101 to encourage the Provincial Government to twin the section from Avonport to Coldbrook?
