Professional Development Committee

Mission

AVCC will provide member-driven, relevant professional development that will improve business performance.

Vision

The PD Committee meets at least twice a year to plan Professional Development sessions through the Nova Scotia Department of Labour and Advanced Education. They also attend the openings, mid-points, and closings of these sessions.

The committee is also working on a program of workshops or lunchtime info sessions on subjects of interest to businesses in the Annapolis Valley.

Workplace Education Programs

Our Professional Development committee offers a variety of courses throughout the year at different locations throughout the Annapolis Valley. These programs are brought to you at no cost. All Workplace Education programs are fully funded by the Federal Government. The Nova Scotia Department of Labour and Advanced Education has been a valuable partner of the AVCC in making these programs possible. As the full cost for participants is funded under this program, in return, we expect a commitment to attend at least 80% of the sessions. You do not need to be a member of the Chamber of Commerce to participate; however, you do need to be employed.
