It may have been blistery in the Village of Canning last Friday, but the passion for a sense of community brightened up the day.
As many of you have heard, Ross Creek Centre for the Arts is developing an addition, closer to the Village of Canning – Ross Creek Annex, (pictured left). Though this addition is a few kilometers away, it’s important to note it still replicates the key values of the Centre.
The Ross Creek Annex will be a space for groups to meet and collaborate to celebrate community and culture.
Equipped with a commercial kitchen, recording studio, and rooms to facilitate many creative expressions, it’s clear this will be a place for people to develop their passion with peers. This is the perfect place to create with your community.
After meeting with Chris O’Neill, the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Ross Creek, it was clear that Ross Creek operates on some core values. Community, culture, and creativity. They value accessibility, diversity, and inclusion. The Centre has provided over 7,500 meals for local families since the pandemic. Chris and their team understand that having access to creative spaces and experiencing local culture can be a privilege to some and are passionate about making these experiences accessible to everyone.
It’s so exciting to see what the Ross Creek Centre for the Arts will be able to help facilitate for the Village of Canning and surrounding areas through the Annex. It’s inspiring and refreshing to see a team so passionate about maintaining spaces for communities to connect.
All aspects of the Annex will be available for the public to rent when completed.
