Valley’s Best 2022

We would like to take a moment to thank everyone who voted, all of our sponsors, all of the Top 3’s that came out & congratulations to all of the winners. You can find the full list of winners here.

It was a fantastic way to spend a fall evening, casually socializing with friends and establishing new connections in the business community.

We can’t wait to get planning for future events!

More photos from Kay, Forever After Photography to come!

As most of you know, we just hosted our 2022 Valley’s Best awards at Millstone Harvest Brewhouse. It was a beautiful venue, I hope those of you who hadn’t been, found a lovely new place to bring your pups.

The Food trucks, TJ’s Burgers and Homemade Fries & The Caribbean Pot provided delicious food. Guy Paul Thibault was there with great tunes and Darrin & Shane from Rewind 89.3 were as entertaining as usual. Despite a miscommunication about what “dressing up” meant on Darrin’s part, everyting went smoothly.

Strategic Social Media Marketing for Small Businesses & Entrepreneurs

On October 4th we hosted a Social Media Strategy Workshop for Small Businesses & Entrepreneurs at the Valley Business Hub in collaboration with Julie Ogilvie, who was also Top 3 in Best Marketing Business for Valley’s Best this year.

This workshop was intended to help business owners and employees reduce stress and increase efficiency in their social media marketing role. How to use social media as a strategic tool, and thoughtfully identify your audience, right in class with the help of your peers and Julie!

The workshop was a hands-on deep dive  with a small class size to allow for  time to engage and apply what was being taught, leaving with a workbook to reference for future projects.

By implementing a couple lessons we have seen an increase of profile visits across all channels already. The goal for us is to increase engagement with existing followers and it appears we are doing just that!

Meet a Board Member – Drew Redden

👋 Meet Drew Redden, our new Board Member & Chair of the Agriculture Committee 👋

After spending the last 14 years in Ontario, my family and I moved back home to the Valley late last year. As I returned home and joined Atlantic Poultry Incorporated as the Director of Sales and Corporate Development, it was important for me to get involved in my community and contribute in a meaningful way. When the opportunity presented itself to join the Board of the Annapolis Valley Chamber of Commerce it was an opportunity I was excited to take on. I believe in the power of the Chamber network, and I believe that a strong business community is vital to a healthy community. I spent my last four years in Ontario leading the team of nine at the Oakville Chamber of Commerce and volunteering with Chamber organizations like the Chamber Executives of Ontario. I am ready to support the dedicated team at the AVCC and play my part in ensuring the AVCC is a strong united voice for business and works to ensure that business thrives in the Annapolis Valley.

We can’t wait to see what’s in store for the Agriculture Committee and happy to have you on board, Drew 👏👏

We would like to take a moment to thank Gary Morton for being the Chair of the Agriculture Committee, dedicating his time and continuing to dedicate time to the Chamber as a member of the Agriculture Committee, it’s greatly appreciated 👏👏
