Advocacy

Thank you to all our members who contributed valuable feedback to the provincial survey on the impact of tariffs on our community.

We’ve been actively engaged in ongoing discussions with the Premier about the tariffs and the next steps to prioritize Nova Scotia’s economic growth with a strong “Canada-first” approach. While uncertainty remains, it’s crucial that we work together to brainstorm and prepare our businesses for the upcoming changes in our economy. Conversations are already underway around removing interprovincial trade barriers, and similar discussions are taking place across Canada with each province’s Premier.

“Atlantic Canadian businesses are resilient, but the impact of such tariffs would be deeply felt across our region,” said Rhonda Tulk-Lane, CEO of the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce. “We are committed to working with all levels of government and our partners to ensure businesses have the support they need to weather this challenge and access new markets.”
