Physician Community Navigator News

The family medicine residents joined PCN, Breanna at the Annapolis Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Pizza, Puzzle, and Pitcher Night. 🍕
2 hours to finish a large pizza, beverages, and puzzle to win the challenge.
They may not have taken home the pizza trophy but we had some great laughs. “Pass the flesh-colored puzzle piece, please”. 😆

Quarterly, Physician Community Navigator (PCN), Breanna, visits 19 primary care clinics and family practices in Annapolis and Kings Counties, dropping off coffee and muffins at each location ☕️

Meet a Board Member: Axel Nafthal

👋 Meet Axel Nafthal, a new Board Member 👋
Having been born and brought up in the Annapolis Valley, I’m delighted for the opportunity to contribute to my community as a new director at the Chamber.
My experience in the food industry began many years ago when I was hired by M W Graves & Company in Berwick. The company evolved to Cobi Foods, and that experience provided the opportunity for management positions in New Brunswick, Manitoba, and Alberta prior to my transfer home. I remained in the food industry for most of my adult life representing such companies as Nabisco, Mars, Tetley and Catelli to name a few.
Since my retirement from the Consumer Packaged Goods industry, I purchased a franchise with Schooley Mitchell, a Canadian-owned business cost-savings consultant with offices across North America.
I get great satisfaction helping organizations both large and small, by securing cost savings in various expense avenues with no financial risk or investment on their part.
Having been a chamber member since my retirement, I am pleased to have the opportunity to serve the community I love, which has been so good to me.
I truly look forward to working with my fellow board members, many of who I already know, and those I have yet the pleasure of knowing.
We’re so happy to have you as an asset with the Annapolis Valley Chamber, Axel 👏👏

Recently AVCC President Jake Rideout and Executive Director, Nyla Frank-Rodgers met with Christine Spurr from the Municipality of the County of Kings meet to discuss upcoming consultations on by-laws and policies that affect investments in Kings County. Stay tuned for details on your opportunity to bring your concerns forward.

Valley Business Hub

Rentable Boardroom, Co-working Space, and Pods.
448 Main Street, Kentville
info@annapolisvalleychamber.ca

While staying in the Annapolis Valley for a couple months during a year of travel I learned after arriving that my Air BNB accommodations would not suit my needs for work on the road.
I was so relieved when I found “Valley Business The Hub” and they had availability to sign me up for a full-time desk on short notice. It was a lifesaver to have a dedicated workspace, high-speed internet access, and even amenities like caffeine on demand and a lounge when you need to switch things up for a short break. Valley Business Hub is a nice clean working atmosphere with a friendly community of people working there. I will definitely look them up in the future if I’m in need of a workspace on my next trip to NS
